New year, new me! If you find yourself saying that.  Have you been to the new Bluemercury?  Bluemercury at Westlake Plaza has everything for beauty junkies.

I have visited the new Bluemercury, in Westlake Village, California. Following the company’s success in Los Angeles. The 2,008-square-foot store opened officially in late June in Westlake Plaza.

The Bluemercury Calabasas location will carry luxury skincare brands Revive, Darphin, M-61 Powerful Skincare and Kiehl’s, along with cosmetics brands Trish McEvoy, Chantecaille, Hourglass, Lune+Aster and more.

Clients will also enjoy Bluemercury’s signature in-house spa treatments. Bluemercury has performed more than 10 million spa treatments since the company was founded and was rated by O, The Oprah Magazine as having one of the best facials in America.

I was excited to see that Bluemercury carried organic products as well as brands that I use like NARS.  It is like I have a natural makeup store near me. They also had some of the best smelling candles.

The staff was very friendly and helpful.  They tried matching suggesting colors that did not suit my brown skin tone.  Everything they selected was a shade or two darker.  They were not knowledgeable in makeup for people of color.  When it comes to purchasing makeup, I will purchase with colors and products that I know to work for my skin.  I do not mind purchasing other skincare products like moisturizers, serums, etc.

The Bluemercury store is listed as being in Calabasas.  It is actually in Westlake Village.  It was a bit confusing for my girlfriends and I that actually live in Calabasas.  It takes about 10 minutes to get to the store.
