Are You Looking For Good Learning Apps For Kids?
During the week my son is only allowed to participate in after school activities, 30 minutes of television if time allows and academic electronic games.
I am always looking for academic games and apps that will keep him entertained and mentally stimulated. A few days ago we downloaded Blue Apprentice. It is an immersive interstellar science education game for kids. My son is a 6th grader in middle school and I had been considering looking for apps for middle school science.
Blue Apprentice is a science education game for kids. They aspire to ignite a child’s fascination for science with an immersive pixar style gameplay experience. The science curriculum is based on Next Generation Science Standards and supports kids classroom science experience.
Blue Apprentice offers the following science curriculum:
- Life Science
- Ecology
- Food Chains
- Photosynthesis
- Marine Biology
- Earth and Space Science
- Geology
- Tidal Forces
- Stars and Planets
- Celestial Structures
- Physical Science
- Chemistry
- Matter, Atoms, Elements
- Electromagnetism and Gravity
- Plate Tectonics
- Engineering and Tech
- Energy Transfer
- Newtonian Physics
- Metals and Alloys
- Complex Systems
In the past few days Blue Apprentice has exposed my son to subjects he has not learned in school and some he has. If he has learned some of the subjects it refreshes his memory or gives him a more detailed look. So far he likes the game. There has been a couple of times he seems a bit uninterested but it is only because he is learning something new and initially thought it would not be interesting. A few days later he was telling someone about the app and they asked him what did he learn, he was able to share about matter. This is something he was not interested in before and seemed not interested in learning but, little did he know he had learned something after all.
The app is very interactive and I think that is why my son is learning.
Subconsciously my child was learning even if he was trying to fight it.
He is able to play Blue Apprentice on his desktop or iPad. Please note that depending on your internet connection it may take some time to download. Chrome is recommended and that it was what we use. When I find that it is taking a while we start the process over and it is fine.
We have not used it a lot but, I am pleased so far. I have added it to apps he can use when his homework is complete.
Blue Apprentice is one of the best kids science apps.
