Gluten Free Desserts– I wish I had the Spooktacular Gluten-Free Halloween Desserts dessert book when my son was in nursery and preschool.  I can remember one little boy that was not allowed to eat anything that appeared to be tasty and fun when the kids had a party.   His mom wanted to start him out on a gluten free diet, so at an early age he knew he could not have anything.  When it was party time, he would always have something like vegetables or something.  The only exception was on his birthday or if his dad sneaked him a treat.  I would feel so bad for the little boy.  Actually the next time I see his mom I will have to tell her about this cookbook.
When the book arrived my son noticed it and immediately started thumbing through it asking if we could make practically everything in it.    I had to explain to him, that this was not like just throwing something together quickly, there are quit a few ingredients involved and this would be my first time making gluten free desserts, so this has to be done right.  With Halloween approaching I am going to try my hand it.  I am a pretty good cook and I love to bake so I think it will be fine.  I am not to sure about sending my desserts to my sons class this time around, we will see.  I will have to test everything out first.  Wish me luck!!!
The book has a lot of pictures and guides you through each recipe step by step.  It should be easy enough.  All of the ingredients are all natural with no gluten and dairy.  This releives the stress of trying to remember who is allergic to what and who just cannot eat anything.
The Spooktacular Gluten-Free dessert book offers nutrition in disguise.  My son is pretty open to natural eating, but it will be interesting to see how he feels about this.  He thinks anything taste good if he helps prepare it so I think this will fly over pretty well in our household. We do have a vegetarian in the family so they are going to be jumping for joy.
I wish I was having a Halloween party.  Although, I am not am going to try some of the recipes.  It is that time of the year to start eating and partying.  I am going to do so in a healthier way.
The Spooktacular Gluten-Free cookbook was published by the Barrios family.  This is the their first dessert book.  The book has been well received and debuted at #3 for Halloween cookbooks on Amazon.
The Barrios family decided to create this book because the options for learning baking with all-natural, wholesome ingredients are scarce.
This is the year you can give a Halloween party and feed your friends gluten-free, dairy free treats made with all natural ingredients.  You will not be using processed flour with any of the recipes.  You can create your own Witchy Carrot Cake cupcakes, or a scary graveyard chocolate cake using alternative options: quinoa, rice or millet. I love quinoa!!! The directions are all in the book.  Everyone will be eating something that is good for them.

Happy Halloween!!!
