I am so excited! My daughter and I will be participating in The Color Run. After watching the video we were so thrilled we called my dad, who is a marathon runner and recruited him to join us. We have selected the Ventura, CA run. My eight-year-old son is looking forward to cheering us on and of course, he loved all of the colors in the video. Like most kids he wants the paint to run through the paint.
We can see why the Color Run, is also known as the Happiest 5k on the Planet. It is a unique paint race that celebrates healthiness, happiness, individuality and giving back to the community.
What is great about this race there are only two rules:
- Wear white at the starting line and finish plastered in color!
When people register in a team of 4 or more it is automatically $5 cheaper, they can then also use their promo code on top of that and save $10.00. Details are online: How does a “Color Team” work compare with a solo runner? Pretty simple, you register as a (4 minimum/infinity max) unit rather than as an individual. You get to pick a groovy custom team name, anything from The Roy G Biv All-stars to We Sweat Rainbows. You then get to run/walk together and “help” each other get really colored up over the 5 color kilometers. There is no “relay” component and team members can finish together as a unit or separately.
