Redeeming Love By Francine Rivers
Don’t you just love when you have read a great book and the book is still on your mind? It is like it has become apart of your life for a small moment. Well that is what happened to me when I read, Redeeming Love, by Francis Rivers.
I have not had a lot of time to read and after a month of searching for the right book, I knew I would make time to read Redeeming Love. I love to read romance novels that, I would call period pieces.
Redeeming Love takes place in California’s gold country in 1850. I have read many Word based books, but none of this kind. Immediately my attention was captured by Angel. She goes through so much from the moment she was born. After being sold into prostitution as a child, she develops a hatred for most men. She does not trust many people and builds a strong barrier that seems to be hard to come down, until God sends her Michael Hosea. Yes, she is sent a Hosea, just like Hosea and Gomer in the Bible. Michael Hosea optimizes a true man of God. It was interesting to see how God can speak to you through others and the battle that goes on with all parties involved. A healing goes on between the two of them that Angel never expected. It was an incredible feeling to read how someone that is so broken can feel love from the One person she did not know and did not want to know.
I completed all 462 pages within a week. I could not put it down. Redeeming Love is definitely a true love story, but it spoke to me as well. I often strive to have more patience and having a stronger walk with Him. Although, this is a fictional book, reading about Michael Hosea, made me reflect on how being patient, listening to that small voice can be so powerful.
I have told several people about this book. I was touched by it and absolutely enjoyed reading it. The copy I have, says 20th year Anniversary Edition. I thought, where have I been??? I wish I had known about this book before. There is a time for everything and I guess my time was now.
