Free And For Me

Lately, when I get in the car, a small voice asks, “Mom, may I listen to Rob Stewart?”  I then say, it is Rod Stewart.”   As I retrieve the disk a request is made, “Turn to number one.”  Head bobbing, my seven year old his singing, She Makes Me Happy.  I have to admit, I like the song as well.  It is a happy song, the beats and Stewarts voice are a perfect combination.  Who would have thought that I would still be listening to a new Rod Stewart song with my son.

Rod Stewart has spent four decades being a rock star, three being a parent, and has a new album’s worth of rollicking stories to tell. Time is his first album of new material in almost 20 years.  With that being said, I think this is amazing!  I grew up listening to  Rod Stewart and now I am rockin out with my little one. 

On the other hand my 18 year old has a different thought of Stewart’s new album.  She says it is her road trip CD.  She says it either makes her feel like she needs to take a road trip and it has great songs that would  be perfect for a great movie soundtrack.  Enough said, it makes her feel good as well.

Clearly my family is enjoying Time, it was released May 7th, 2013, it marks Stewart’s long-awaited return to his songwriting roots and features 12 tracks, 11 of which he wrote and produced. 

We are creating memories with Time, it will definitely be in the car this summer for family road trips.
