Free And For Me

Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 was better than Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, or least that is what I thought.  I asked my son and he said he liked them both equally.

Flint Lockwood, (voice of Bill Hader) finds himself still seeking attention for his inventions by joining his idol, Chester (voice of Will Forte), when Chester invites him to join the Live Corp Company and use his gift for invention for the good of mankind.   Just as young Flint prepares to go to work for his hero Chester V however, the young genius learns that his water-to-food machine is not only still functional, but it’s also started cross-breeding animals with food. Now, in order to prevent a growing army of “foodimals” from escaping isolation on an island and wreaking havoc on the mainland, Flint and his loyal group of friends will have to do battle with such delicious, but deadly, hybrids as the ferocious tacodiles, slithering apple pie-thons, and vine-swinging shrimpanzees. Saving the world from these rampaging monstrosities won’t be easy, but if anyone is up to the task, it’s Flint and company.

Throughout the movie there was so much laughing.  I am not sure if all of the children understood most of the jokes, but I think they knew they were watching an animated film.  There was a gentleman seated in front of me that laughed at everything.  That is when you know a film is made for the entire family.  My son loved the bathroom jokes.  I was a little unnerved by them, because I teach him that bathroom jokes are not funny.  My other concern was the use of words like crapolla and shut up.  Those are words that should not be in a family film.

Now, do not get me wrong.  I really liked the film, but I was just concerned about those things.  I sat hoping my son did not pay attention to them.

Of all of the characters in the film, I feel in love with the strawberry named Berry. Berry was so adorable.  There is a part in the movie when all the characters join together and it I was moved by all of them.  I really liked the live food concept.

Cloudy 2 demonstrates true friendship, loyalty, honesty, and respect.  Despite some of my concerns, I was happy my family had the opportunity to see the movie.  We really enjoyed it.
