Fright Fest 2019 – Six Flags Magic Mountain Opening Night
When I received an invitation to attend opening night at Six Flags Magic Mountain Fright Fest my daughter and I were excited! My son, on the other hand, was nervous. On the days leading up to this event, he watched YouTube videos and asked his friends what it would be like. This was a big deal for him. He is absolutely afraid of haunted houses and mazes.
Our night began by attending the opening night party, where we feasted on some of the newest foods and treats that will be available at Six Flags during this Halloween Season.
As we enjoyed drinks and snacks my son’s thoughts were consumed with going through the mazes. He was so much in his head, he did not want to eat. He was overthinking this.
He had gotten himself all worked up for nothing because he survived it. There were a few times he let out a few loud screams, but he was fine after a while.
Watch the video below and you will hear someone scream loudly. That is my son. He laughs hysterically when he watches this video. What was the fuss and stress all about?
Magic Mountain Fright Fest can be frightening, allowing people to enjoy that surge of fear for a few minutes through each Halloween scare maze. Some mazes are not as frightening as others. Walking around and expecting to be frightened is a lot to handle. As we walked through each Halloween scare maze we fearfully linked arms and shuffled our feet waiting for whatever was lurking or lying in wait to give us a good scare. As we walked through the mazes I asked myself, “Why do people like a good scare?” It did not matter because I kept going through maze after maze, subjecting myself to this and encouraging my son to as well. To my surprise, after a while, he did not need any encouragement, he had fallen under the spell of wanting to be frightened throughout the night.

When we were not in the mazes we rode rides. We even made a stop at Voodoo nights and jammed to some music. As we strolled through the park, creepy monsters followed us, scared us, and photobombed us.
By the night’s end, my son’s fears had turned from something evil to enjoyable. We had a blast!
