Holiday In The Park At Six Flags Magic Mountain – Christmas Things To Do In Los Angeles
Six Flags Magic Mountain Events
Surprisingly, this year seems like one of the most festive holiday seasons for my family. Every year, we do 25 days of Christmas. We were recently evacuated during the Woosley Fires. During that time I was thinking about not keeping up with tradition. In the midst of down spirits, we attended a preview of Holiday In The Park at Six Flags Magic Mountain, and 25 days of Christmas was back on!
Holiday In The Park will run for 29 nights – beginning daily November 17 through 25, weekends only through December 9, and daily December 15 through 30. Holiday in the Park begins each day at 5 p.m., signaled by the first falling snow of the evening.
Upon entering Magic Mountain theme park, our spirits were lifted and we were in the holiday spirit.
We could not resist the sweet, delicious smell of freshly baked goods, beautifully, lit trees and holiday music.
In addition to the new themed areas, Six Flags Magic Mountain is also presenting a brand new holiday-themed food festival, Taste of the Holidays, December 15-30. Featuring holiday-inspired traditional culinary delights in mouthwatering, non-traditional ways, guests will find a large variety of specialty holiday foods from delicious main courses to mouth-watering desserts.
We enjoyed an array and decadent foods and desserts, ranging from chicken and waffles, root beer cake, peppermint parfaits, peppermint brownies, prosciutto sloppy Joe’s, cherry pie nachos and more. Everyone found something they enjoyed. My friend and I could not get enough of the brownies, and my son went crazy for the cherry nachos pie. I could not figure out what my daughter’s favorite dish was. She would be mortified if I said she liked everything. She would think I am saying she ate everything or too much.
With so much food to choose from, I was content with eating and enjoying the lights. I know, you cannot visit Six Flags Magic Mountain and not ride the rides. It had been years since I had been to Magic Mountain and I agreed to ride the easier rides. On this day I was forced out of my comfort zone and was tricked into riding Full Throttle. I found myself riding a few more rides while my son, daughter and old college roommate (who has a strong sense of adventure) rode all of the rides that I was too afraid to ride.
There was never a dull moment. In between eating and riding rides we found time to listen and dance to live holiday music.
We also stopped by Santa’s Cottage. While we were there we saw Santa and made Smores. Inside the cottage, there is a store that features new merchandise. Among the merchandise, there are new plush animals for a program called “Buy One Give One.”
“Buy One Give One” is Six Flags’ way of giving back. This is the first year the park has teamed up with California Highway Patrol to donate a plush toy to a child in need for every plush that is purchased. Guests can choose from reindeer, elf, polar bear or snowman.
By the night’s end, we were exhausted from having so much fun. This was definitely a perfect way to kick off the holiday season.
Happy Holidays!
