Vegan Restaurants LA

I started a 21-day vegan challenge in September.  After 21 days I kind of fell into vegan a lifestyle.  I say, “kind of” because it has been two months and I am still going.  I have not committed myself as a vegan but I am pretty sure I will.

While on this journey I have been looking for fast food restaurants that have vegan options on their menu.  Cali Fresh Mexican Grill in North Hollywood has a few vegan options to choose from.  I am not just talking about French fries.

Food North Hollywood – CaliFresh Vegan Menu includes:

• Breakfast Burrito – scrambled tofu, soy chorizo, cheese, potatoes, roasted bell peppers, salsa, cilantro, wrapped in a flour tortilla.
• Breakfast Bowl – scrambled tofu, soy chorizo, rice, beans, roasted peppers, almond cheese sauce, pico de gallo
• CaliFresh Vegan Burrito – soy chorizo, rice, beans, roasted peppers & corn, almond cheese, pico de gallo, salsa verde sour cream sauce
• CaliFresh Vegan Taco Plate – 2 tacos, soy chorizo, cabbage, almond cheese, pico de gallo, roasted corn
• Twisted Quesadilla – Monterey jack, roasted peppers & corn, cilantro, side of pico de gallo & guacamole
• Ensalada – lettuce, tomatoes, bell peppers, avocado, roasted corn salsa, pico de gallo, house made agave cider dressing
• CaliFresh Tostada Salad – house made tostada shell, lettuce, beans, pico de gallo, cheese, roasted corn salsa, soy chorizo, avocado
• The IMPOSSIBLE Burger & Fries – lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, grilled onions, cheese topped with chipotle mayo

I was one of the first people to try The IMPOSSIBLE Burger was introduced to restaurants.  I am always pleased to see it on any restaurant menu.  I am a little biased and always feel like I have to order one when I see it on the menu.   Of course, I had to see how CaliFresh Mexican Grill IMPOSSIBLE Burger tastes.  Let’s just say, “I was not disappointed.”

Aside from being excited about seeing The Impossible Burger on the menu, I was eager to try the Calif Fresh Taco plate.  I have never had chorizo before because I have not eaten beef or pork in almost 25 years and had never eaten it before then.  It was worth the wait.  These tacos are delicious.

I rarely eat fast food.  Knowing that there is a fast food option that will not leave me feeling guilty makes me view fast food a little different now.

I cannot tell you how many times I have dined at any type of restaurant and have struggled with finding something on the menu that I am able to eat.  That is not the case at Cali Fresh Mexican Grill.  They cater to everyone.

The restaurant is fairly new and is trying to set itself apart from North Hollywood restaurants.  When I arrived at the restaurant there were a few people eating.  While I was at the restaurant more people came in.  They either dined in or ordered take out.

This new and thriving restaurant will soon bring happy hour as well.  It will be a great place for people to stop by after work, so they can relax and unwind.  The atmosphere is very laid back, so you can definitely take a load off.

Aside from delicious food, the location is awesome.  It makes sense that CaliFresh Mexican Grill is in North Hollywood.  When I think of vegan food near me I always think of North Hollywood.  I do not know if it is because North Hollywood has the Vegan Street Fair or if I look for vegan places near me and North Hollywood comes up.  Mind you I do not live close to North Hollywood.
