I had been craving chicken & waffles for a while before dining at Bru’s Wiffle in Santa Monica.   There are not too many places that serve chicken n waffles near me.  When I arrived at the cute, little restaurant on Wilshire Blvd.,  I could not wait to try the Dwight’s Special.  A Belgian waffle topped with two pieces of boneless, skinless crispy chicken.

The Dwight’s Special is not just any chicken & waffles.  This dish is made with love and friendship.  The owner, Ebru was able to perfect the Dwight’s Special by having her friend Dwight and his mom sample the combination until they came up with the right recipe.  After this chicken and waffles recipe was perfected she named the dish, Dwight’s Special.

The Dwight’s Special is absolutely delicious!  It was more than I expected.  Bru’s Wiffle immediately sets themselves apart when it comes to chicken & waffles.  The best part of it all is that the mouth-watering, juicy chicken is actual chicken breast.  No bones!

Every dish at Bru’s Wiffle is made with the best ingredients.  My daughter could not resist ordering the Chocolate Waffle Party after learning that it included real Belgian chocolate. The two chocolate Belgian waffles stuffed with housemade buttercream, topped with oreo cookies, whipped cream and chocolate sauce can be eaten as a dessert or an entree.  My daughter always says it is okay to eat dessert before the main course.  In this case, she ate it in between courses.

Somehow we were able to try a half order of French Toast.  With full bellies, we could not resist the cinnamon sourdough bread, topped with strawberries and bananas. This was our cheat day and our first time dining at Bru’s Wiffle, one of the best brunch places in Santa Monica.  We had the perfect reasoning for it all.

It was hard to look over the Bru’s Wiffle menu and not want everything.  I really wanted to try the Churro Waffle.  This is a Belgian waffle with cinnamon and sugar topped with cinnamon ice cream.  I wanted to try it because I know my son loves churros and waffles.  He would have lost his mind if he had dined with me and saw this on the menu.  A friend of mine, who has dined here many times before told me to ask for the waffle to be fried.  I am sure my son will love fried waffles.

Aside from the plethora of amazing dishes to choose from, the drink menu has many options as well.

My daughter and I quenched our thirst with a couple of drinks.  I had the Sunrise.  This drink contains fresh-squeezed orange juice, grapefruit, ginger, and carrot.  I typically do not eat or drink food that has grapefruit or ginger in it, but I decided to try this drink, because after all that I had ordered I needed to feel a little healthy.

Dining at Bru’s Wiffle was a great experience.  All of the staff were very friendly, the atmosphere was nice and the food was DELICIOUS!

Bru’s Wiffle is considered to be one of the best breakfast places in Santa Monica.  You cannot go wrong when breakfast is served all day.
