Nostalgia!  As my son and I watched Christopher Robin at Disney Studios a couple of weeks ago, memories of my childhood flooded through my brain during the entire movie.

Disney books and read along albums played a huge role in my early life as I learned to read.  Winnie The Pooh was one of my favorites.  I always felt like I was taking part in the adventures of Pooh and his friends.  They were the best outlet on rainy days.

Christopher Robin Synopsis:

In Disney’s heartwarming live action adventure, the young boy who shared countless adventures with his stuffed animal friends in the Hundred Acre Wood has grown up and lost sight of what’s important in life. Now it is up to his childhood friends to venture into our world and help Christopher Robin rediscover the joys of family life, the value of friendship and to appreciate the simple pleasure in life once again.

Subconsciously I wore pastels to the screening. I have always associated pastels with Winnie The Pooh.  I loved the pastel colors within the scenery of the books and the light colors of the hardback book covers.

This movie has an incredible message about being who you are.   You do not always have to try to adjust to others.  No matter how old you are this is something that people of all ages deal with.  When I asked my son what he got out of the movie that was the first thing he mentioned.  I am telling you, this message speaks loud and clear.

The movie also touches on true friendship, family, and loyalty.

Christopher Robin Quotes:

My favorite line is, “Doing nothing leads to the very best something.”  My son loved it also because he has been trying to use it in a literal sense, although he knows better.

If you have not gone to see the movie Christopher Robin, sit tight after the credits.  You are in store for a wonderful treat.

CHRISTOPHER ROBIN is directed by Marc Forster from a screenplay by Alex Ross Perry and Allison Schroeder and a story by Perry based on characters created by A.A. Milne and E.H. Shepard. The producers are Brigham Taylor and Kristin Burr, with Renée Wolfe and Jeremy Johns serving as executive producers. The film stars Ewan McGregor as Christopher Robin; Hayley Atwell as his wife Evelyn; Bronte Carmichael as his daughter Madeline; and Mark Gatiss as Keith Winslow, Robin’s boss. The film also features the voices of: Jim Cummings as Winnie the Pooh and Tigger; Brad Garrett as Eeyore; Toby Jones as Owl; Nick Mohammed as Piglet; Peter Capaldi as Rabbit; and Sophie Okonedo as Kanga.

Christopher Robin opened in theaters on August 3rd!  This is movie is going to be a classic.  You have to see it!
