How To Take Your Temperature With a Thermometer

When I received my Exergen Smart Glow TemporalScanner I wondered when I would be able to use it, because it is rare for someone in my family to have a fever.  But, I knew this would be a product I would need at some point.  Last week, my son woke up in the middle of the night complaining that his head was hot.  I instantly pulled out my new thermometer.  I was happy to have this professional temporal thermometer – Exergen Smart Glow TemporalScanner.

I read the instructions, in which they seemed simple enough.  I then ran the thermometer across his head.  As I moved the thermometer across there were beeping sounds after I pressed the center button.  All the while I was thinking this is the real deal.  When I looked to see what the temperature read, I thought something is not right.  The numbers were too low and he was burning up.  I did this several times and then read the directions again.  Oh my goodness….I had not taken off the cap.  The directions specifically state to take off the cap.  Okay….I then took off the cap and followed the directions correctly.  I was then able to see an accurate reading.  My son definitely had a fever.

I could not believe how easy it was to check his temperature.  I was a little skeptical because, I have been accustomed to using a thermometer that goes in the mouth, so I ran it across my head and the numbers were accurate as well, with no fever.
