Free And For Me

I know April’s Fools Day was a couple of days ago, but I am still laughing.  I did not pull any pranks or jokes  on anyone and no one fooled me,  but someone got my son really good.

When I picked my son up from school, as usual I asked him how was his day and how was his lunch. Usually, he responds by telling me about his day and if he ate his entire lunch or not.  On this day, he responded by saying, “I did not eat my lunch.”  He is not very detailed at times, so I had to ask him why.  He then replied, “My friend told me the principal told him you called the school and said you were coming early and for me to stand at the pick up area instead of going to camp. I stood there for a long while”   I looked  at my son wondering why would someone do this, so I asked him why and he responded with, “He came back and said, April Fools  I missed lunch time and was only able to play.”  I did not know if I should laugh or feel bad for him.  He told the story like he was not bothered too much and grabbed his lunch bag and began to eat from it.

I am hoping he will not fall for something like this next year. How was your April Fools Day?
