Free And For Me

Giving you the latest and hottest in entertainment, travel, food and much more!!!

I am so tired of hearing people say, “I am getting old!”  or “I am old.”

Today, as I sat with an old friend, she made the statement, “Girl, I am getting old.”  Did I hear her correctly?  I had to stop and think for a minute.  She is the same age as me and I am definitely not old.  I did not have the energy to correct her because, I have tried correcting so many other people.  What is going on?  Since when is being in your 40’s old?  As far as I am concerned if I am still living in my 70’s I still won’t consider myself to be old.

A couple of months ago I asked several people to participate in the Spartan Race.  Many of them said they were too old to do it.  WHAT!!!  You mean to tell me you are too old to be in shape?

People my age irk me with calling themselves old but, I think the worst culprits are my parents.  They are in there early to mid 60’s and they say they are old.  My mother is the worst.  My father is on the cusp.  He is an ex marathon runner that actively exercises daily but, he is quick to call himself old.  These two are hilarious.  They are far from old and I wish they would stop trying to act like they are.

As of today I am going to stop letting these old people get to me.  I don’t believe for a second that any of these people are old and I cannot understand why they are taking on this mentality.  There is nothing wrong with getting old or older but, these people are not old.  Of course we have the freedom to believe whatever we want to.

Happy Friday!!!
