Fashion Rocks @ Macy’s with Lawrence Zarian #FashionRocks @Lawrencezarian
My son and I attended Macy’s Fall fashion show, Fashion Rocks, at Macy’s Sherman Oaks, hosted by Lawrence Zarian. And boy did it rock! We left there on a high. Well my son may have been on a sugar high from the candy station along with the excitement from the photo booth, but I was excited about fall fashion.
Lawrence definitely knows how to host a show. I have attended other fashion shows he has hosted and they were fun, but this one will always be special to me.
When the show began the very handsome and observant Lawrence Zarian came out and the audience went crazy. As he made his way down the runway, he proceeded to look down at me. I was on the front row. He asked if I was taking photos, video, tweeting, instagram, etc. He is asking this, because I had my phone up snapping away. I respond, “I am tweeting.” Too my surprise, he says, “Let’s take a selfie.” WHAT!!!! Oh My Goodness!!! He proceed to sit on my lap and we took a selfie. I am not fond of how I look in this photo, but how many women can say they have had this experience.
Now back to the fashion show. There were many great looks. This show started out with a bang, the clothes were nice, but the crowd was excited when they saw the young man wearing a Kenneth Cole Reaction black waxed jacket and jean, shadow stripe hooded vests and black/whit plaid shirt. Yes, this ensemble was nice, but when they saw the young man, there was much applause.
Yes, he was nice looking but, I began to think I am on the right track with fashion as the models to model all of the wonderful fashion. I have some of these items in my closet. I am always shopping and I have a 20 year old that keeps me in the know.
The styles catered to men and woman for many occasions.
This Calvin Klein black spliced knit/pleather dress, with V Fraas hounds tooth cape was confirmation for me that the capes I have purchased were a good choice. I also have a a pleather dress that I never thought to pair with a cape.
According to Lawrence, biker boots and booties are definitely the in thing. When I saw this Eileen Fisher mushroom cowl neck sweater paired with the skirt and booties, it gave me more ideas for items I have. But, I will be going out to purchase more.
Men’s fashion was definitely a hit. The women loved the models. I am suspecting their significant others may have been gifted new clothes or many fashion suggestions.

I was pleased to see the waxed jean and waxed sweat pant in this fashion lineup. When the models came out wearing them a couple of the ladies kept asking, “Those are jeans?” The sleek, wax look can be a bit deceiving, but oh so classy.
Other brands like Max Mara, Charter Club, INC, Perry Ellis, Eileen Fisher and Sanctuary were worn in the show. All of the styles and brands were well put together and offered a lot of ideas.
The show ended with the Max Mara Weekender pearl puffy jacket and turtleneck, with metallic ankle pant. I do not have ankle pants and am dying to get some. I think I may need to buy a new puffy jacket. Lawrence what are you doing to me?
Fashion Rocks at Macy’s was fun. I always have a good time at any show Lawrence is hosting, but this one is memorable.
Lawrence has a new book: Lawrence Zarian’s Ten Commandments for a Perfect Wardrobe. His forward is written by Regis Philbin and afterward by Steve Harvey. Lawrence knows fashion and Steve and Regis just know everything. I am suspecting it will be a good read.
