Alison Sweeney, Scared Scriptless @Duffscakemix #Sweeneymamarazzi
Last week, I attended a Mamarazzi Event at Duff’s Cake Mix and the special guest was Alison Sweeney. She is debuting her new book, Scared Scriptless.
I am looking forward to reading this new book. After reading the synopsis, I am confident this will be a great summer read.
Maddy Carson is a mass of contradictions. She loves her job as Script Supervisor on a hit TV show, but hates “Hollywood.” Super-organized and down-to-earth, Maddy is clearly one of the best at her job, and her strict dating rule – “No Actors!” – helps her keep focused on her career. However, a budding relationship with Craig, one of the executives at her company, may even propel her into the big leagues. Could Wolf County, her beloved hometown in the mountains, be saved from a financial crisis by creating a reality show featuring the eccentrics in the small ski village? Maddy is determined to try, even when she learns that Craig’s agenda doesn’t exactly line up with her altruistic goal.
Meanwhile, Maddy still has a full-time job to manage, her family to deal with, and a gorgeous new actor, Adam Devin, determined to wear down her resistance. Eventually Maddy must learn to break all her self-imposed rules and simply follow her heart.
Scared Scriptless offers an engagingly relatable heroine, laugh-out-loud humor, and a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at how television is made.
I am sure this is going to be a good read, because after meeting Alison and listening to her share her experiences as a wife and a mother, I thought, “I could read her book.” She seems to have genuine, warm and fun sense of humor. I am suspecting she will not disappoint, in Scared Scriptless. It is impressive that she has written this book while juggling work, two kids and a husband. I was able to relate to her, when she spoke of her five year old daughter that posses a strong attitude. I sat nodding when she described her daughter. The very observant Ms. Sweeney asked me, “Am I doing it right?” “Yes, I replied. I have brought my 19 year old daughter and I have been there before. My daughter is awesome!” Alison has the ability to connect with her fans and with that said I think she knows what the readers want.
As I mentioned, this event was held at Duff’s Cake Mix. Can I say, “AMAZING!!!” Someone suggested I try one of the Tiffany colored cupcakes. Oh my goodness! I could not believe how amazing it was. This cup cake was moist and made me want to eat more. How could a tiny cupcake take over me. I quickly had to make a move for the DIY area, because we were supposed to decorate our own cupcakes. I had two of the cupcakes. That is all I needed. I am trying to slim down.
Duff’s cupcakes, made me feel like I was a real cake decorator. My cupcakes turned out so cute. I could not stand to eat them, that is until I was driving home and my box tilted over and they no longer looked so lovely. It did not make any difference, my son devoured them.
If you are looking for a good summer read, I think Scared Scriptless will be your best choice. If you are looking for great desserts or would like to try your hand at decorating you may want stop by Duff’s Cake Mix.
