The Treebobs And Air Rena Review
Over the winter break, my son and I read, The Treebobs and Air Rena, by Declan Harney. My son is at the beginning stage of reading adventure books, so I thought this would be a great book for us to read.
The Treebobs and Air Rena is the sixth book in the Treebob series. Rotten Rena, the wicked witch of the Enchanted Forest, is back and she is more wicked than ever, flying high and causing mayhem with her own airship filled with cackling nasty witches.
My son is in the third grade and we read certain books together. Treebobs and Air Rena was one of those books that we definitely had to read together. He liked the adventure and the characters. He found the story more enjoyable when I read it to him. I have asked him how did he like the book and he says he wants to read it again. He says, “When I am in fourth grade I want to read it, there are somethings I do not understand when I am reading it.” We are not waiting until fourth grade, we will be reading it again soon. As in tonight. I will read it to him so he can focus more on the story.
We were immediately taken in by Rena’s character, she was introduced with mischief. I do not know a child that does not get a kick out of reading a story of mischief and mayhem. During certain moments my son was making statements like, “She can’t do that.” For me I just love when I read a story and there is a character that is confident and gets into things and then they are set straight.
This was the first time reading a Treebobs book. We are huge fans of children book series. The Treebobs are a unique series of children’s books available in audio, hardback and as a download and are sweeping across the country. These remarkably well-crafted stories will have children and adults giggling and howling with delight as each adventurous calamity unfolds.
20% of the profits from the sale of this book go straight to the home of Peter Pan… the Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital. Such is the popularity of these books that the first five audio stories are now on the children’s entertainment system at the hospital.
