Free And For Me

There is nothing like sitting down and watching a good romance.  If you are like me, you may want to watch Meddling Mom on Hallmark Channel, September 16th and The Sweeter Side of Life, September 7th.  You cannot beat a double dose of romance.

Meddling Mom-Take Carmen Vega downtown and book her! Carmen (Sonia Braga) is guilty as charged of scheming with her two best friends, Marisol and Valeria (Rose Abdoo and Saundra Santiago) to stick her nose in everything in her two adult daughter’s lives. From secretly leaving baby books out for recently wed daughter Yolanda (Ana Ayora) and her husband Rico (George Contreras) to manipulating youngest daughter Ally (Mercedes Renard) into a doomed date with best friend Marisol’s son Pablo (Rafael Amaya), Carmen can’t stop interfering. Now, the notorious mother of good intentions with equally hideous results is about to get a crash course in butting out!

A widow, Carmen is happier to intrude on her daughter’s love lives than start one of her own, but Yolanda and Ally are tired of their mother’s meddling and start scheming to set Carmen up with Luis (Tony Plana), a handsome ballroom dance teacher who’s crush on Carmen is no secret. Just as her family believes Carmen’s finally got a life of her own, Carmen proves her nosy habits die hard when she accidentally gets Ally’s new boyfriend Ben (Rob Mayes) in trouble with his strict boss. Suddenly, all the Vega women’s relationships are on the line. Will Carmen ever learn her lesson?

I think this is going to be a good movie.  I really like Tony Plana.

The Sweeter Side of Life-Desiree Harper’s perfect life as the wife of a high-powered Manhattan doctor comes to a sudden end when her husband says he wants a divorce. To make matters worse, he invokes their ironclad pre-nup, leaving her penniless. Desiree soon finds herself abandoned by her rich friends and moves back to New Jersey to help her father run his struggling bakery. Though Desiree wants nothing more than to return to her high-class life, spending time with her father causes her to see things differently. She rediscovers her love of baking and puts her business degree to work to save her father’s shop.  When Desiree’s success at the bakery leads to an unexpected opportunity, will she choose to recapture what she’s lost, or what she’s recently found?

I am also a Kathryn Morris fan.

Don’t forget to mark your calendars and if you can’t watch them during the scheduled times there is always DVR.

This is a great way to bring in the new season.  Sit down, relax and enjoy these two movies.
