Neil Patrick Harris & the Smurfs

Just Smurfin around at the Grove on Global Smurfs Day!  Where else would you find Neil Patrick Harris, the star of “The Smurfs 2” hanging out with the Smurfs on a trolley?  Well for me it was at the Grove.  I was front and center.

I was excited to see Neil, but my seven year old was about to explode if he did not get his Papa Smurf tattoo, his Smurfs shirt, eat Menchie’s Smurfberry frozen yogurt and play Ubisoft video game.

My daughter and I took turns taking him to each area, because many families came out to participate in Global Smurfs Day.  There were Smurfs everywhere!  They were walking around, performing, sitting in cars, on stage.  The energy was so high with music, food and games.

The first thing we did was stand in line for our Smurf’s shirt, but while waiting we could not resist the Menchie;s Smurfberry frozen yogurt.  My kids had Smurfberry with all of the toppings.  I had vanilla without toppings, but you cannot go wrong, because Menchie’s yogurt is so good.  My son really liked his Smurfberry yogurt.  I did allow him to put on  his own toppings, so he did pile it on or at least I thought he did.  It looked delicious.

While I continued to wait in line my daughter walked him over to the Ubisoft video game.  He played games and had a blast.  The staff allowed him to win several times and he walked away very happy.  Now he is suggesting we get the video game.  We shall see….

Face painting was offered.  My son loves tattoos.  He was thrilled to have a Smurf tattoo.  He vowed to not wash it off.  I tried explaining it was paint, but he thought it was like the bubble paint or whatever ink they use at his camp that is long lasting.  It did last all day.  When it was bath time he said he would not wash it.  But, he did put his arm in the water and the paint came off.  He then understood what I was talking about.  Thank goodness we took a picture.  It was a great tattoo!!!

My family was able to get the take part in the fun activities at the Grove for Global Smurfs Day.  Now we cannot wait to see “The Smurfs 2”!
