Spectrum Athletic Club – Body Boot Camp and Stonefire Grill
I would like to thank MomsLA for organizing the Body Boot Camp Meet Up at Spectrum Athletic Club, Thousand Oaks for mom bloggers. I am thanking them because, attending this meet up has motivated me to increase my workouts. It validated all of my thoughts of being out of shape.
I arrived at Spectrum without thinking about what I would be in store for. I guess, with so much on my mind I did not have time to think about it. Like most aerobic type classes they start off fairly easy and then there is the hard stuff. I am do not like working out indoors and have not done so in a while. The class started out fine until the instructor started yelling out things like, “32 more.” Was she serious???? I quickly discovered she was. I could not wait for this class to be over. But, I knew in the end I would be grateful I did finish the workout out, and of course I was. Body Boot Camp reminded me of a combination of aerobics, jazzerise and boxing. Although, I am out of shape I had a nice time.
Not only was the class a nice experience, Spectrum Thousand Oaks is a nice facility with a very nice staff. We were given a tour. I really liked the Kids Club. It was very spacious and they seemed to be very accommodating. Spectrum also offers a variety of customized, results-oriented corporate wellness programs, and their certified personal trainers and instructors are the very best in the business.
After taking a quick tour of the facility, it was time to eat. Our dinner was catered by Stonefire Grill, Thousand Oaks . This was perfect, because after the workout we had, my body was craving protein and vegetables.

I liked all of the food that was provided, the one thing I looked forward to was the Quinoa. It was soooo good. I was pleasantly surprised by the roasted garbanzo beans in the Golden State Kale, I absolutely loved them. I can see myself going there and ordering just those to add to salads at home as well. They were really good.

Elly Salter from Stonefire Grill shared with us what StoneFire has to offer. Stonefire’s tag line is Freshly Prepared Simply Delicious. And, I must say, delicious it was. Stonefire has been very responsive to their guest by adding a lot of healthy alternatives to their menu. As a result we were able to try some of the items that have been added.
The selection of salad and chicken that we ate was very delicious and filling. I am looking forward to taking my family to dine at Stonefire Grill.
This was an evening of fun, exercise and healthy eating, it gave me the extra boost I needed.
