Beauty And The Beast: A Christmas Rose – Holiday Theater

Another day of our 25 days of Christmas activities down.
This year my family added seeing Beauty And The Beast – A Christmas Rose to our holiday activities.
I love when I find something to do that will appeal to us all during the holidays.   My daughter is a young adult and my son is a preteen and I want to make them both happy.
Beauty And The Beast – A Christmas Rose appeals to everyone.  No seriously….there is a big age difference between my son and daughter and they both loved it.  The sold out audience was filled with men, women, boys and girls of all ages.
I was concerned my son would not enjoy it because I thought maybe he was over fairy tales.  I was wrong.  As soon as Belle walked on stage he said, “That is the girl from Lab Rats)  Lab Rats is one of his favorite shows.  That was the perfect way to draw in a boy who is into action and adventure.   He sat in his chair bobbing to the music and laughing at a lot of the jokes.  Some of them were over his head.  But he enjoyed himself.
I was not too worried about my daughter.   She was one of  many little girls born in the 90’s that wore a Belle costume every chance she got.  It would be an understatement to say she loves Beauty And The Beast.   As she sat bobbing to the music and singing the songs she could not help but express how much she loved this version of Beauty And The Beast.

An updated version of the classic tale, in the style of a traditional British family Panto, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST – A CHRISTMAS ROSE  features family-friendly magic, with a comedic twist, dancing (with “So You Think You Can Dance” alumni), contemporary music and more.
The Ensemble for BEAUTY AND THE BEAST – A CHRISTMAS ROSE features Jessica Richens (Top 3 “So You Think You Can Dance”/ “So You Think You Can Dance” All Star), Jennifer Bermeo, Alyse Rockett, Annie Gratton, Wally Pham, Branson Hudson, Darnell Joseph and Mason Trueblood. The Youth Ensemble features Emmanuel Martin Lewis, JD Bering, Caden Miller, Bryanna Fernandez, Madison Han, Yasmine Arya, Cameron Steen, Cody Copley, Joshua E. Guerrero, Layla Krugh, Brooklyn Bustamante, and Lexi Hernandez.
As a California natives we got a kick out of hearing familiar cities being mentioned.
As we sat thinking, ‘ I know that place.’  We were taken on an adventure with Belle as she set out  to save her father but finding herself being held captive and of course falling in love.
The singing and dancing was incredible. The cast sang familiar songs and sometimes putting their own spin on them. My daughter was excited to see one of her favorite dance choreographers choreographed the dancing.
We were pleasantly surprised by the audience participation.   There was never a dull moment.
With all the singing, dancing and audience participation we were sad to see the cast take a bow.  Where did the time go?
As we excited the building we were surprised by snow.  Kids screeched with excitement and parents took photos.  This was a great way to end the evening during the holiday season.
