This is the time of year my family is really on the go and eating lots of food. It has been hard to watch what we eat during the holiday season. I have tried making light snacks.
In the midst of the holiday fun, we have been snaking on Tuscanini Parchment Crackers. We either eat them with or without, cheese, dip or salad.
From Tuscanini, maker of genuine brick wood oven personal pizzas, authentic home-style sauces, and hand-crafted biscotti, comes Tuscanini Parchment Crackers, paper-thin treats imported from the idyllic island of Sardinia off the sunny Italian coast.
Tuscanini’s hand-crafted Parchment Crackers are baked, never fried, so they’re an ideal swap for flatbread, chips, or calorie-heavy snack crackers. These parchment crackers deliver authentic Italian flavor with just 5 simples ingredients and 120 calories per serving.
All three varieties – olive oil, olive oil with rosemary, and olive oil with oregano – are GMO free and perfect with antipasto or served alongside a cheese plate, and make a delicious complement to an elegant Italian meal. Each cracker is made from an authentic Italian recipe using time-honored techniques to preserve their delicate flavor and texture. OU Kosher and dairy-free, too.
Imported from Italy and packaged ten 3.5-oz. packs per case, Tuscanini Parchment Crackers are sold in the cracker category – available at Amazon, Fresh Direct, major supermarket chains and independent grocers as well as to upscale restaurants – (MSRP: $4.99 per pack) and distributed by Kayco. Kayco, also known as Kedem, is headquartered in Bayonne, N.J. Its kosher food products are available at independent grocers and in every major supermarket chain in the U.S., and can be found in more than 30 countries. These flavorful baked crackers have a surprisingly thick texture although they are thin. It is kind of hard to describe.
I like to break my crackers as I eat them because the cracker is kind of large in size. This parchment cracker is also very flaky, so it helps if you break it. Flakes and all I know this is a great quality cracker.
Eating two in each sitting was perfect for me because this low calorie cracker was pretty filling. This is just what a need.
These tasty crackers have been hit in my household. I also shared a couple of boxes with my parents when we went to visit them. They are the type of people that do not go out and try many new food items, so I was excited to share these snack crackers with them. They need to try healthier food options anyway so this worked well for them. My mother has always loved chips and is trying to refrain from eating them and has been speaking of finding healthier snack options. I hoping that these crackers would be an alternative to chips. As I suspected, she loved them.
I know these crackers are pretty light and are a healthier option, but I have thought about making Christmas Crack Candy with them. I am not sure how well it will taste with these flavors. It is worth a try.
