This Summer has been extremely hot and I have not wanted to cook. It works out well, because dining at The Habit Burger Grill has been one of our restaurants of choice.
The Habit Burger is exploring the delicious tastes of Hatch Chiles through the return of their seasonal Hatch Chile menu. Featuring a delicious Grilled Hatch and Pepper Jack Charburger, a Grilled Hatch and Golden Chicken Salad, and a Grilled Hatch and Pepper Jack Chicken Sandwich, the seasonal menu serves up a variety of tasty options for everyone to enjoy.
For a third year, The Habit is continuing its fight against childhood hunger in partnership with No Kid Hungry. On Aug. 29, the Habit is kicking off a fundraiser, offering guests who donate $2 or more a free charburger. Last year The Habit raised more than $400,000 that provided more than four million meals for kids in need, and have set a $400,000 goal for this year. This is how we help starving children.
I have stated before that we had not dined at The Habit for a while, we were missing out on delicious food and fundraising. I love that they have partnered with No Kid Hungry. It pains me to think that as I fill my belly there are children in the world that are hungry. I encourage everyone to participate in this campaign. Think about it, everyone is receiving something in the end. If you are like me it feels good to give. Treat yourself to the delicious tastes of Hatch Chiles while you make a difference in a child’s life.
No child should go hungry in America, but 1 in 6 kids will face hunger this year. Using proven, practical solutions, No Kid Hungry is ending childhood hunger today by ensuring that kids start the day with a nutritious breakfast, eat healthy summer meals, and families learn the skills they need to shop and cook on a budget. When we all work together, we can make sure kids get the healthy food they need. No Kid Hungry is a campaign of national anti-hunger organization Share Our Strength. Join them at NoKidHungry.org.
While dining at The Habit my family ordered the Grilled Hatch and Pepper Jack Chicken Sandwich. I opted to not have pepper jack on my sandwich. It was fine because the sandwich was good with or without cheese. Before we tasted the sandwiches we knew they would be delicious. They just looked how they would taste. We never order our sandwiches on grilled sourdough when we dine here, but will start to do so more often. The grilled sourdough bread melted in my mouth. There was just the right amount of hatch chiles, chicken and lettuce.
Of course, we did not eat our sandwiches by themselves we had to order fries and we tried Tempura Green Beans. We love the fries and now love the Tempura Green Beans. That was our first time eating them.
I wish we each tried something different, but I am happy we ordered the chicken sandwich. My intentions were to order either the Grilled Hatch Chicken Salad or the Golden Chicken Salad. Maybe next time.
