The movie Chappie opened in theaters on March 6th, starring Hugh Jackman, Sigourney Weaver and Sharlto Copley.
The films synopsis: In the near future, crime is patrolled by an oppressive mechanized police force. When one police droid, Chappie, is stolen and given new programming, he becomes the first robot with the ability to think and feel for himself.
My family has not seen the movie yet but, we did attend a Rolling Robots press stunt for the movie.
My son has a love for robots and was excited about making is very own crab robot at Rolling Robots.
I on the other hand am petrified when it comes to building anything. Surprisingly I built one as well and was very proud. Making a robot was easier than I thought. I have to admit, I could not have done it if the Rolling Robots staff did not offer such great instructions and assistance.
After the robots were complete it was time to see them roll. As they rolled across the table I was afraid mine would fall to the floor. The instructor was quick to inform me that I had nothing to worry about. The robots would turn in a different direction when reaching the edge. Now, I was really impressed.
After being so impressed with my new crab robot, in which I gave to my son ( I know he would get more use out of it than I would.) I am looking forward to seeing Chappie. It is has an R rating, so my son will not be able to see the movie. I am sure this will be on his list of movies to see when he is older.
I definitely plan on seeing Chappie when I am taking a moment for myself. Oh, I guess I may bring my daughter along. She is old enough to see it.
