Although, I am trying to work off the extra pounds I may have acquired over the holidays, thoughts of Mrs. Cavanaugh’s chocolates pop into my head. They played a huge part in my over indulging.
I told my children I wanted our home to be filled with a lot of sweets. Isn’t that what the holidays are all about? I made sure there seemed to be an unlimited supply of candy, cookies and anything else we would not eat on a regular basis. Out of all the delicious treats, we had Mrs. Cavanaugh’s boxed chocolate, a caramel candy bar, white chocolate almond coconut candy bar, and mint candy bar.
I had not heard of Mrs. Cavanaugh’s chocolates until I was given the opportunity to work on their campaign for their Christmas deals they were offering. I am very picky when it comes to chocolates. I guess I can say I only eat the best and I was very interested in tasting these fine chocolates.
One day while I was rushing to do something with my family. I decided I would grab the caramel candy bar so that we would share it while we were out. When we each had a bite of the chocolate we were pleasantly surprised. It was smooth and rich. I do not think I could eat one bar by myself in one sitting. But, bringing one bar along was not a good idea, I should have brought two.
When we got around to eating the boxed chocolates we each found something we liked. Now, that I think about it…my daughter was complaining that she did not get any. My son and I ate the entire box.
I consumed so many sweets over the holidays and have no regrets. Now, I am just waiting for the next big holiday that will give me a reason to eat a boxed of chocolates. Valentines day is just a month away. Maybe, I will have Mrs. Cavanaugh’s.
