A couple of weeks ago my mother called me in a panic, because her doctor had switched her medicine for her diabetes and it was not agreeing with her. Her numbers were off. Ironically, this happened a week after I had received my bottle of Yacon Syrup to review.
During this time she would turn to something sweet to get her numbers right. A couple of days later, she came over to my house and picked up the syrup. Over the next couple days after she picked up the syrup, I called her several times a day to see how the syrup was working. I explained to her that Yacon Syrup had the following benefits:
My mother is over weight and since taking the Yacon Syrup, she has lost weight. She says it curbs her appetite as well. As for the syrup helping with her diabetes she says she has not felt sick since taking the syrup. She believes she had to get used to the medication, but she believes Yacon Syrup has helped.
Prior to giving my mother the bottle of syrup I did try it, because I need to shed a few pounds. It did curb my appetite, I did not want to eat sweets. When I tried to eat sweets after taking the syrup it was not appealing. The only draw back for me was that I did notice that I would get a little moody after taking it. I am like this when I have sweets sometimes. I can only eat sweets when I feel that it will not affect my moods. So, this was not a fit for me.
Yacon Syrup is very thick. It does not taste bad. I actually liked it. It was a bit shocking the first time I tasted it. I do not eat a lot of sweets, so that may be the reason. I opted to place it on a spoon and digest before every meal. I did try it in my tea, but decided it may dilute it. My mother is eating it from the spoon as well.
So far Yacon Syrup is working for my mother and I am happy I was able to share something with her that will help with her diabetes and her weight.
