For some reason, I cannot go through the holidays without having popcorn, especially caramel corn. I received a box of samples of G.H. Cretors Just The Caramel, Chicago Mix and Just The Cheese Corn. When I received the package I did not want to eat it, because it was so nicely packaged. After I got over the packaging I had to indulge in this gourmet snack.
Combining cheese corn and caramel corn in the same bag offers delicious hints of sweet, salty, crunchy and cheesy in every bite. The caramel corn is made the old fashioned way: by hand, in copper kettles. Cane sugar, brown rice syrup (a non-GMO alternative to corn syrup with a lower glycemic impact) and real butter is heated over a flame and then stirred slowly by hand to develop its rich complex flavor and crunch. For the cheese corn, real cheddar cheese is melted in special kettles and then gently mixed with locally-grown, air-popped corn. The result is a perfect combination of tastes, two-cheese to one-caramel in every bag. And, this treat is all natural and completely free of GMO’s, artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives!
When I realized this popcorn was an all natural snack, I had to share with my mother that is diabetic. She loves to eat chips, so this would be a great snack alternative for her. She tried it and loved it. Like most snack she likes and tries she did not want to share with my father.
I have fallen in love with Just the Caramel Corn. I like the buttery flavor and caramel. Although, it is natural the caramel corn is very tasty. I ate one half a bag in one sitting. Last night I was eating some and my son was sitting next to me. I normally offer him anything I am eating, but I guess it slipped my mind. I looked over at him and he was just staring at me. I asked him if he wanted some, he said yes. I then thought to ask why did he not ask for some. He said, “I did not think you wanted to share.” That is terrible, had I hogged the popcorn? Well, we have one bag left and I am not touching it. I will let my son eat it.
Popcorn is an essential holiday snack. You have to try G.H. Cretors popped corn.
