Invisalign Invisible Braces

Braces Then, Invisalign Now – Ortho Dental Care

Okay…I am wondering if I am exposing too much of myself in this post.  It is a little embarrassing that at my age I am seriously considering getting Invisalign on my teeth.

Until 8 1/2 years ago, I had perfect teeth or at least that is what the orthodontist always told me.  During my pregnancy with my now 7 3/4-year-old, son I faced issues with my teeth.  The one major thing that impacted me was having to get a tooth extracted.  During that pregnancy, everything possible seemed to happen with my teeth.  The worst was the tooth extraction.  I had the tooth removed and in what seemed like a matter of months, my teeth started shifting.  I had never heard of such a thing.  It was something I noticed but really did not notice.  I have now been told by my new dentist that I will need to get braces or Invisalign.   When my molar was removed it needed to be replaced and since it was not, now my teeth are shifting.  I did not know this could happen, but it makes sense.  The empty space needs something there.  Now, this is insecurity that needs to be resolved.

I cannot imagine walking around with metal braces so I am researching how Invisalign works.  Invisalign are clear, smooth, comfortable plastic aligners that are virtually invisible, easy to clean, and most important I can eat whatever I want.

I never thought I would be researching ways to straighten my teeth at this point in my life. The thought of adult braces is embarrassing but wearing these aligners opposed to braces is making me more confident.   I guess it is a blessing in disguise.  When I was growing up the only option was metal braces.  I am so glad I do have this option.  Teenagers these days are lucky!

I have an 18-year-old, daughter that is considering getting Invisalign.  For her, clear braces are the only option.    Again, she was told she did not need to align her teeth when she was younger, but for some reason, she does now.  She now wishes this was revealed to her when she was a preteen because she would not have mind wearing anything.

Although I have been speaking with our orthodontist, the thought of cost has been on my mind,  I have used the Invisalign cost calculator, to estimate how much this will cost for the two of us.

Every patient’s needs are different and there are many factors involved that determine the cost of Invisalign treatment.  But, in most cases, Invisalign is comparable in cost to traditional braces, is covered by most insurance plans,  and affordable financing options are always available.  For more information on cost and insurance coverage, visit the Invisalign Website.

Among the new advances in orthodontia, removable aligners, like Invisalign and Invisalign Teen are fast becoming a popular choice.  The system uses a series of clear aligners made of lightweight plastic that sit smoothly on the teeth allowing for a more comfortable fit and they work as effectively as traditional metal braces.

I am so happy we have this option because my daughter and I would be two unhappy people.  Now I just need to take the leap and just do it.

I would like to hear about some of your experiences with Invisalign.  This is a huge experience in my life.  My emotions are all over the place with this one.

  1. So you understand what I am going through. That happened to one of my brothers, but I do not know if he is trying to straighten his teeth again.
